Infusionsoft (Keap) versus Hubspot [August 2023]

If you are looking for CRM support, contact management, and excellent segmentation, then your choice may be between Infusionsoft and Hubspot.

Hubspot, founded in 2006, is one of the most popular marketing automation tools in the industry, offering a comprehensive service for everything from blogging to sales.

Infusionsoft, rebranded as "Keap" in 2019, also aims to provide a one-stop shop for your marketing needs, with an advanced campaign builder.

Today, we will put Infusionsoft and Hubspot to the test, to see which one will be the best for your marketing automation needs in 2019.

Infusionsoft vs Hubspot: Pricing

We all have budgets to consider, don't we?

I always check prices before investing in tools.

Infusionsoft offers 3 pricing models:

  • Growth: $79 per month ($23 discount at the time of writing)

  • Pour : 149 $ par mois (44 $ offerts au moment de la rédaction)

  • InfusionSoft : 199 $ par mois (59 $ offerts au moment de la rédaction du présent document)

Compared to something like Pipedrive CRM ($12.50 per user per month), these prices are quite high.

However, with Infusionsoft by Keap, you do not pay "per agent" - so that's a plus. In addition, prices start with support for up to 2,500 contacts. Competitors often start their prices at around 500 contacts instead.

At the time of this review, Infusionsoft/Keap had an offer of 70% off for your first 3 months.

Hubspot is another marketing automation tool that falls on the side of costs.

One of the great advantages of Hubspot compared to Infusionsoft is that there is a free level.

Personally, it's a huge advantage for someone like me, who loves testing new tools.

This free tool comes with a set of useful features such as ad management, contact management, live chat, and team emails. However, you do not have any of the marketing automation tools you need, nor landing pages, or even email marketing services.

If you upgrade to the "Starter" level for $50 per month, you will benefit from some additional advantages - but honestly, it is not enough for anyone interested in true marketing automation. If you want to create custom workflows and offload marketing work, you will need the "Pro" package. It starts at $800 per month.

For additional special functions such as CMS membership and single sign-on, you can expect to pay at least $3,200 per month. This is a significant investment in terms of marketing.

Winner

Although Infusionsoft is certainly not the "cheap" option here, it is still cheaper than Hubspot. While there is a free version for Hubspot, it will not give you any email marketing or automation tools.

Infusionsoft vs Hubspot: Boarding Fees

If Infusionsoft and Hubspot weren't already making you question your budget, there is another expense to consider: onboarding.

With Infusionsoft, there are mandatory "startup" fees, which cover your individual coaching sessions, reports, migration, and other essential elements to help you get started.

Unfortunately, this "supplement" is not optional and costs at least 499 dollars, depending on the amount of help you need.

Personally, I would have preferred to figure it out on my own and save some money. However, you may want us to give you an extra hand, even if it involves paying more money.

HubSpot, on the other hand, provides their mandatory "onboarding" for $3,000. The onboarding service allows you to work with an implementation specialist. This allows you to properly set up your marketing hub and, hopefully, get the most out of your campaign.

Once again, it is an expensive way to get extra help for the first three months of your campaign. However, you cannot choose not to take it.

I prefer to figure things out on my own rather than pay a few hundred or thousand dollars - but here..

As Infusionsoft and HubSpot both hide the details of their onboarding fees at the bottom of pages and in small print, be sure to budget for these additional expenses when signing up.

Winner

Once again, neither option is ideal if you are looking for something cheap and cheerful. However, Infusionsoft is significantly cheaper than Hubspot as a whole.

Infusionsoft vs Hubspot: Features

Let's get to the heart of this review.

If you want to make a lot of money with Hubspot or Infusionsoft, you will need excellent features for your money.

Although these two tools have a lot of capabilities to cover, for the purposes of this study, we will compare:

  • Automation Functions

  • Gestion des ventes

  • Segmentation / Gestion des contacts

  • Rapports et analyses

  • UX, Interface et fonctionnalité

  • Intégrations

Infusionsoft vs Hubspot: Automations

In this review, we are looking for the tool that will help you reduce the amount of work needed for your marketing campaigns - and potentially earn more conversions.

Infusionsoft is a tool that focuses almost entirely on automation at its core.

For most people (including myself), this is the best automation builder on the market. Mapping out entire funnels and applying automation rules is a breeze. Plus, you have all the landing pages and email templates you need to convert leads into customers.

Infusionsoft is a "visual" builder. This means that you drag and drop triggers in an incredibly easy-to-follow list. For example, you can decide what happens when your audience clicks on a link or reads an email. It is even possible to create multiple sequences leading to the same goal.

In terms of automation, Infusionsoft is very hard to beat.

Now, let's look at HubSpot.

Hubspot is not actually a marketing automation tool in itself. It is an inbound marketing service.

So, what is the difference?

Well, Hubspot offers many different tools, such as blogging, lead tagging, etc., but it doesn't do anything particularly in depth. Think of it as a jack-of-all-trades rather than a specialist.

Marketing automation is one of the features offered by Hubspot (although it is not free or inexpensive). HubSpot's automation tools work on "if, then, else" workflows. You set rules to perform specific actions based on what your customer does or does not do.

The process is quite intuitive and fairly easy to follow, but it is not as immersive as Infusionsoft. You can use automations to turn customer requests into tickets and pass them on to your team members, or use automations to move people further down the sales funnel. However, you do not have as many trigger options as those offered by Infusionsoft.

I slightly preferred the graphic design of Hubspot, but it was more of an aesthetic preference than anything else.

Winner

When it comes to creating visual workflows, Infusionsoft is unbeatable. The automated workflow is incredibly in-depth, with countless triggers and potential automations to choose from.

Hubspot had no chance in this field.

Infusionsoft vs Hubspot: Sales Management

Infusionsoft and Hubspot both present themselves as all-in-one tools.

This means that you're not just getting marketing automation. You get everything you need to capture and convert a lead. These two tools provide access to the entire buyer's funnel.

So, how does Infusionsoft fare when it comes to sales management?

Quite good. With Infusionsoft, you can access a host of built-in sales automation functions that automate activities such as:

  • Note the tracks according to the activity

  • Envoi automatique de devis à des prospects

  • Organiser visuellement votre pipeline

Honestly, Infusionsoft's sales management options are not as comprehensive as what you would get from a solution like Salesforce. However, if you are looking for a reasonably affordable tool that integrates well into your marketing and conversion strategy, the sales automation tool is very useful.

There is also a basic basket - although you will probably have an easier time setting up something like WooCommerce or

The main problem is that I am simply used to using other options, and Infusionsoft's shopping cart doesn't seem as intuitive to me. Additionally, you have to pay an extra fee instead of getting free integration.

Let's see how Hubspot manages sales.

As a comprehensive inbound marketing tool, Hubspot offers you both a customer relationship management (CRM) tool and a sales tool in addition to your marketing suite. These components come with automation functions, allowing you to determine how leads flow through your pipeline. You can also automatically score leads over time.

The connection between marketing and sales with Hubspot is seamless. If you are looking for something that provides you with more consistent feedback between sales and marketing, then this is an excellent choice.

Hubspot also allows for easier engagement in omnichannel sales and marketing strategies.

For me, it was like working on my whiteboard at home or playing with post-its. It was simply smooth.

You can choose to add or remove users from lists, modify contacts or company information based on their interactions, send SMS messages when people abandon a cart, and much more.

The extensive automation options are excellent for large marketing teams.

Winner

In this field, Hubspot comes out on top. As a complete inbound marketing suite, it allows companies to much more easily manage their entire prospecting and lead acquisition strategy.

Infusionsoft vs Hubspot: Email Marketing Platform

Email is essential for converting leads into sales.

So, how do you start building amazing content to send to your audience?

Infusionsoft offers an intuitive email creation service designed to simplify the creation of amazing templates. Honestly, the number of pre-defined templates available is quite limited compared to the competition. However, Infusionsoft shines with its ability to allow you to design emails from scratch.

The drag-and-drop builder works by blocks.

You drag images, spacers, call-to-action buttons, and many other things into your template, and Infusionsoft makes sure they work well together. You can also preview your email on your mobile phone and desktop or send a tester to a dummy account to check that everything is working as it should.

I had a great time with this movie. It is really satisfying to see all the elements of your email fitting together like Tetris pieces.

Hubspot also offers a handful of templates to help you get started with its email marketing service.

Once again, it doesn't seem like there are many options to choose from at first glance. However, when you switch to the template creator, you discover many additional features to play with.

Like Infusionsoft, everything works with blocks. You can add social media buttons, images, text, and layout functions by simply clicking a few buttons.

When it comes to editing your design, you can choose from different patterns, colors, and fonts to make your content stand out. You also have the option to add your own company logo.

Honestly, the experience is so similar to that of Infusionsoft that I had trouble distinguishing them.

The only real difference is that you cannot preview your email in mobile mode.

Winner

I would have called this section a draw if it wasn't for the additional possibility of previewing your email in mobile format that you get from Infusionsoft. This additional option puts Infusionsoft just ahead of Hubspot here.

Infusionsoft vs Hubspot: Segmentation

You don't want to just send the same email to everyone, right?

Managing your contacts is crucial in any marketing campaign.

As everyone knows, relevant content is the key to success. Personalized email messages increase click-through rates by at least 14% on average.

Creating a contact list in Infusionsoft is a piece of cake. Just click on the + button at the top of the page to start creating your dashboard. By hovering over a contact on the main page, you will have access to more information, and you can enter the contact itself to get a more complete list of information.

Even more importantly, Infusionsoft makes it easy to segment your contacts using lists and tags. You can organize your contacts into lists, then tag them to ensure they receive the right content to boost sales.

To add a tag, visit your contacts page, and click on the Action tab. Infusionsoft offers the ability to add labels to an entire group, such as "Repeat Buyer" or "New Customer", so that you can also segment in bulk. You can also tag individuals with messages like "Payment Failed".

HubSpot also offers many contact management features to ensure that your lists are well-targeted.

As Hubspot integrates with a wide range of customer relationship management systems, one of the best ways to manage your contacts is to import them from the tools you already use. For example, you can transfer everything you already have in Salesforce to Hubspot.

A particularly impressive feature of HubSpot's contact management options is that adding a URL to a record allows you to pull demographic information from that URL. For example, you can add a prospect's website to their contact details, which will automatically provide you with information about the company's location, number of employees, etc.

You can send an email to your Hubspot contacts directly from the record on your Hubspot dashboard and make VoIP calls if you have activated this paid feature. The integration allows you to record and log information related to calls, as well as transcriptions.

Winner

Hubspot is without a doubt the winner when it comes to contact management, simply because you can do much more with the contacts you have. However, it is worth noting that you will have to pay much more for additional features such as voice over IP and call recording.

Infusionsoft vs Hubspot: Reports and Analysis

It is important to monitor the progress of your campaigns.

Hubspot and Infusionsoft both give you excellent insights into your success rates, thanks to the reporting feature. To find out how things are going on Infusionsoft, click on your email statistics page and press the "View" option to see the report on each email campaign.

Although Infusionsoft's reporting features are quite extensive, they focus more on your emails than on other parts of your marketing campaigns. If you are looking for a tool that covers all inbound marketing reports, you may need to switch to Hubspot.

Hubspot gives you everything you need to track the entire customer lifecycle, from the visitor on your website to the long-term customer.

You can segment your reports by company and by contact in your CRM database, and set up tests to uncover trends in your marketing results over time.

HubSpot closes the loop with your marketing efforts through revenue and attribution reports, so you can see which activities contribute the most to your results.

For end-to-end marketing advice, HubSpot goes above and beyond. The integrated analytics features are even accompanied by widgets that you can add directly to your dashboard. This means that every time you log into HubSpot, you see the progress you have made.

I felt like a data scientist - and I have never done in-depth data analysis in my life.

Of course, all the features may seem a bit overwhelming at first - but that is probably why HubSpot charges you so much for onboarding. They teach you how to use a comprehensive analytics system.

Winner

HubSpot provides amazing end-to-end analytics for your marketing campaigns. To get amazing reports and detailed information on your return on investment, HubSpot partners with analytics services like Google.

Infusionsoft vs Hubspot: Interface, UX, and User-Friendliness

Even the best marketing tool is not very useful if you don't know how to use it.

Fortunately, Infusionsoft and Hubspot take this into account.

Each of them is equipped with a customizable dashboard, which offers a variety of widgets that you can add or subtract according to your needs in the context of your campaigns. The user interface of Infusionsoft is clear and simple.

Depending on what you want to do, you can customize your dashboard by adding all kinds of features, from contact management to usage statistics.

Furthermore, when we talk about user-friendliness, it is worth mentioning the visual campaign builder offered by Infusionsoft. It is one of the simplest and most intuitive automation tools on the market.

There is also a feature on Infusionsoft called "My Day", which allows you to organize the tasks you need to accomplish. If you work with a team, you can even delegate tasks to other people.

Infusionsoft offers many possibilities to simplify your marketing management strategy. There is also an iOS and Android app if you want to work on anything from your smartphone. You can't create complete email campaigns or anything like that, but you can check basic elements, such as the performance of your emails.

Hubspot also provides a very intuitive user experience for software that is rich in features.

For me, it was sometimes a bit difficult to know where things were that I wanted. However, HubSpot offers many training courses that will help you get up to speed. The dashboard is very clean and easy to use, just like Infusionsoft.

However, I struggled to determine where I should go to find email templates, or even to find help from the support team.

To some extent, Hubspot experiences a bit of "feature bloat". There are so many things you can do with the system that it can seem overwhelming at first glance.

However, once again, I will say that there is boarding available which, I suppose, will give you all the necessary indications to make the interface more comfortable.

Even without this additional help, some features - like the marketing automation suite - are very easy to use. In addition, blogs and landing pages are simple and easy to create.

There are only a few initial growing pains to overcome. For example, why did it take me five minutes to find the damn help button?

Winner

In my opinion, Infusionsoft comes out on top simply because it seems to focus more on user-friendliness at the moment. The smartphone apps are pleasant to touch and everything seems transparent as you navigate through the software.

However, Hubspot is certainly not too difficult to use either.

Infusionsoft vs Hubspot: Integrations

Do you want to make sure that your marketing automation software works well with others?

Infusionsoft and Hubspot are both excellent in this regard.

I will not give you a complete list of integrations offered by both options. Both services allow you to easily find what you need on your own.

There are hundreds of applications on Infusionsoft, categorized into options such as "Convert Leads" or "Make Money". When I clicked on "Attract Leads", I found no less than 109 integrations available.

Hubspot is just as generous in its integrations. There are about 320 in total at the time I am writing this article. Additionally, they are all organized into categories based on what you want to accomplish. For example, you can search for apps related to analysis and data, advertising, calls, and many other things.

One particularly useful thing about HubSpot is its API. This means that you can create your own programs within the HubSpot platform if you have a developer on board.

Winner

The two tools are widely integrated, but Hubspot seems a little more complete at the moment.

Infusionsoft vs Hubspot: Customer Support

We all need a little help sometimes, don't we?

Infusionsoft offers many support options, including a help center with knowledge base articles, webinars, blogs, and much more.

If you are looking for individual assistance, you can call the toll-free phone numbers in Australia, the UK, Canada, or the US. There is also a 24/7 chat feature if you are lucky enough to have a complete premium Infusionsoft account.

For those who do not yet have a complete account, there is also a lot of help available from the Infusionsoft community. The forums are open to everyone, and you can ask questions to a group of very responsive and friendly Infusionsoft users.

I have already used Hubspot and I found that its customer service was terribly bad. However, it can be said without risk of error that the company has greatly improved in this area in recent years. Today, you can get phone support through a convenient callback feature. This means that you no longer have to wait for hours.

You can also access the Hubspot knowledge base for DIY help, or click on the "Help" button at the bottom right of your Hubspot account for personalized assistance.

The "Help" button takes you to a page where you can search for answers to your questions in the Hubspot knowledge base, or you can submit your questions to "HubBot".

The bot gives you the opportunity to choose between talking to a coach or finding solutions by yourself, which is nice.

When I clicked on "Chat with a coach", the bot asked me what I was looking for in order to find the right person to answer my question. For me, it's a good sign that you will find the right agent the first time, rather than being passed from person to person.

Winner

Hubspot offers a live chat tailored to your needs, reminder functions to help you save time waiting, and an excellent knowledge base. Here you will find everything you need to benefit from excellent customer support service.

If you are looking for a basic or cheap marketing tool, then neither Hubspot nor Infusionsoft is the obvious choice. These two options are expensive (Hubspot even more so), but you will get value for your money.

With Hubspot and Infusionsoft, you will find many features that will help you automate and optimize your marketing strategies. Although they both present themselves as all-in-one sales and marketing solutions, they are very different in the experiences they offer.

Infusionsoft is the tool you need if you want to set up highly responsive and intuitive automation campaigns from the start. Hubspot is the service you are looking for if you need an overview and a comprehensive insight into your sales and marketing campaigns.
